Alice Collingworth
Educational Background: 1st Class Degree in History from Bristol University, PGCE in History (up to GCSE)

Profile: Alice worked in a Montessori nursery for a number of years after graduating in the Southampton area. She wanted to extend her knowledge and draw on the positives of both mainstream education and the Montessori ideas to bring out the best in her pupils/tutees. Alice uses her qualifications and creativity to devise worksheets and games to stimulate and engage the student. This undeniable enthusiasm for her subjects lends a wealth of inspiration and therefore a sense of self belief in her students. Clients have commented on Alice’s sensitivity to the student's way of thinking and alter the teaching methods accordingly. She has been with us for sixteen months and has successfully helped pupils prepare and pass Entrance examinations to top schools such as Westminster, Eton and St. Paul’s. She volunteers in her spare time with a youth theatre group and has re-discovered her love for the piano and aims to improve her playing.
Richard Higgins
Educational background: University of Durham 2.1 English Literature B.A. Hons degree, currently studying for Masters in American Literature at the University College of London

Profile: Richard has been a tutor with us for two years and enjoys teaching students at GCSE level because of the satisfaction of students achieving their desired grade. Clients have remarked on the tutor’s diligence in completing the tasks set before him which is a credit to his professionalism in understanding the students’ needs and aims. Consequently he has been asked to spend a holiday with a client to continue to motivate and lend enthusiasm to subjects that the student struggles with at school. Richard has travelled extensively and raised money for various charities by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and completing the Inca Trail. Currently he is planning an expedition to walk the Great Wall of China.
James Post
Educational Background: 1st Class Degree in Mathematics from Edinburgh and currently studying for a MSc Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science

Profile: James joined our company fourteen months ago. He has been complimented on the understanding attitude he takes towards the importance of the syllabus and the need to answer each question in a certain way leading to very positive feedback. He worked as a teaching assistant during his gap year gaining insight into how students can be put off by a lack of variety in learning techniques, particularly when the certain subjects have a stigma of being hard or confusing. His interests are running a chess club and he is a regular attendee at The Barbican.
Frances Edmondstone
Educational Background: University of Oxford 1st Class (B.A.) Degree in English and German
Subjects taught: English and German to Degree Level, German, French Conversation to Advanced, French GCSE, History to A Level and Mathematics GCSE.
Profile: Having left Oxford University to work with a German TV network, Frances has produced a number of programmes and short films. She lived in Germany for a number of years before moving back to London and joining our books. As a talented linguist she encourages learning through mistakes and she is a good listener, allowing the student to identify their own areas of strength and weakness. The rewarding nature of tutoring is very satisfactory by either achieving the desired grade, or the knowledge that the student has become more responsible for their own goals in life because of that boost in confidence she gives. The aim for the next few years is to renovate a pub complete with a cellar theatre in East London.
